Can I answer a summons on plain paper typed and referencing the summons #. It seems the car driver while using someone else's car sped through a stop sign and caused an accident. The car owner's insurance company won't pay for damages and is coming after me. The driver who went through the stop sign also hit another car.

This sounds like a really complicated, very involved and very dangerous circumstance. Was anyone killed, maimed, hospitalized ? This is no the whole story but enough sounds really bad.
