Married in Panama 13 years ago.is this valid in U.S.
I was married in Panama 13 years ago and was trying to file for a divorce. According to my spouses attorney there is no record of us being married here in the Unoted States. Is this True? Was it not valid in the United States?

There is a big difference between being valid and being on record. Your marriage was valid. Since you were married in Panama you wouldn't excpect to see a record here in the U.S. Do you have or can you get a copie if your Marriage Certificate? Also any immigration records etc. What state are you in?

The record of your marriage is in Panama, not the US, but it is valid.

If you need a copy of it, you will need to work with ( my starting place) the Panama embassy. Each nation keeps their records differently.

So what is your attorney stating?
