My sewer lines are covered by the town from the street to the house. They ran a camera through and said it was in the house. I'm living on ss and have no extra money to pay someone. When I take a shower or use the washing machine the water comes up in the tub and my slop sink in the garage. It is black and sluggish looking. How much will a rotter routter charge. Can I try anything on my own?

Your drain is partially blocked. It needs to be serviced / snaked. Cost or Rooter service depends on where you reside - but figure around $100.00. I would suggest to call a handyman. Some may do it for 1/2 of that price.

Your clog will be found downstream from the slop sink.
This can be reached from either the slop sink roof vent or the house clean out. Milo and John gave you excellent advice. Follow it!
