Should I be worried that a girl I'm in love with is okay with having a thing for 4 months but doesn't want to date?

The parents thing seems right. I'm sure that if it is parents or just wanting to take it slow, you will work it out. As the fairy talees say (I know life isn't a fairy tale) True love conquers all.

We're both 14. And I asked her about the parent thing and she said no its not that. So what else can it be? She won't tell me

By "thing" I mean we're basically dating but we don't have the official title. We say I love you to each other, hold hands, kiss, hug, and just enjoy each other's presence.

Maybe she's just afraid of commitment. Or maybe she just realizes that at 14, chances are it won't last anyway and doesn't see a point in adding titles to what you two have going.

You said it yourself, "Just enjoy each other's presence", why do you need to add a title if everything is going okay?
