I am using compaq presario v 2000 with 512 mb ram,when I format my system,it works well for few days but the it suddenly shuts down sometime,n then takes along time to restart but after it restarts the welcome sounds is heard breaking even any other sound breaks,media files are played with stop and play like they stop and play stop and play,I am getting frustrated,I have formatted my system a lot of times and don't want to do that again,moreover I am connected to internet,plzzzz help e out

Problems of this type can be hard to troubleshoot. My strategy is to first verify all the individual hardware devices with their own diagnostic utility or by removing them individually from the system.
