    Bankruptcy
I have a judgement against me from 2001 for a credit card and now it had risen to over $9,000. I have spoken to the lawyer in charge of this judgement and he had told me I had to pay $1000 down and450 a month. I am a single mother and I do not receive any child support. If I filed for bankruptcy would that take care of this judgement and will it effect my car loan. I have no assets with the exception og my car, no house, no savings, I barely make ends meet. How long will my credit be affected for and would it be worth it for me. I just need a new start financially and I have been told that this would be the best thing I could do. I live in the state of Florida and I have been here for most of my life. Thank you

Please just add new concerns/questions to your existing thread.

Yes, the debt could be erased by filing in bankruptcy. Your car loan could be affected and you might have to "re-up" on the loan.

There are two types of bankruptcy and an Attorney who reviews and investigates your circumstances is the best judge of whether you qualify.
