Will cutting down tree & grinding stump stop root growth ?

Drilling the stump and filling the holes with diesel does a great job of killing the root system.

Maybe:)
We have had some that no roots have grown and others that I am still working on to this day (2 years later) but it gets easier every year.
Almost like pulling weeds.:D
