Sometimes I seriously believe that lighting agents only work for those with light skin already…I’ve used A LOT of lightening agents in the past but I have yet to get desired results, if any.

I am SOOOOOOO tired of having uneven skin. My hands, neck and legs are all different colours - this is the main reason why I have never worn shorts in FOREVER years!! I hate hate hate having uneven skin.

If my WHOLE body were dark I’d LOVE that…I don’t want lighter skin, just even skin, but in order to even it out, I need to lighten. I have such a wonderful sexy body but it burns that I cannot wear a bikini.

I tell yea, I have been to so many derms, and cosmetic clinic …they don’t have anything to lighten/even out my complexion. Nothing to help. Toronto sucks!

…I need to even out my complexion before the summer or at least see some improvements.

What lightening agents really work for darker skin?

I feel so depressed about this, summer is coming up again and I'll be covered up AGAIN :(

I really think I need to mix my own crème - the ones they sell in the stores are NEVER big enough to use for the whole body - and you'll literally need to buy 100 of them to see any improvements. I'll start mixing my own.

Hi, I have the same problem I don't want to be white but I do want an even/uniform complexion from head to toe, what's your overall skin color? Anyway stay far away from skin lightening scams that claim they have a miracle product. You best option is to buy hydroquinone powder and compound. But you don't need a high percent because you don't want to alter your natural color, you just want a flawless and even color. Good luck, feel free to ask anything for more advice. I feel your pain

In order to even out my complexion I need to lighten, I am going to start mixing my own creams - big economical batches instead of buying my own. At this point.. I don’t care about altering my natural complexion…I really don’t anymore. Over all I’m Gabriella Union’s complexion. I know I may never have a uniformed complexion but at least if I can even out my complexion a bit it will help myself esteem : (

You can go on skin care, actives, skin care product, natural skin care, serious skin care, organic skin care, skin care information they don't have hq but they sell alpha arbutin, kojic acid, and glutathione(known to lighten the skin and aren't dangerous) they explain how to mix it in the same cream. It is a reputable seller!
I also would like to advice you to try to use some lactic or glycolic acid before starting the lightening process cause it cleans up the skin (lactic also lightens a little) If the skin is clean it will absorb better the lightening ingredients!
Then you need to buy some retin a to use along with the cream.

Hi amygene I'm sorry your having so much trouble. 3 options:

-see a specialist: the benefit-they have the expertise and it's the safest. The downside-they may tell you its not that bad or based on your condtion prescribe hydroquinone at high doses which can be very expensive if not covered by your health insurance.
-use natural remedies: lemon juice, mulberry extract, aha peels, retin a
-use over-counter or online products: steroid based beauty supply creams(they are quick and work but they are not policed by the fda and their long effects have not been officially researched), mono(wouldn't recommend it without the guidance of a experienced dermatologist.

I would say see a dermatlogist see what they say if you have medical condition. If you have the money see a cosmetic dermatologist it would be expensive but there's no guess work involved. A lot of the creams out there are trial and error and that can be expensive(some creams can be $25-$100 a jar) what works for one doesn't work for another. Some people don't like using the steroid creams but they work but they are side effects( black marks and bumps on your face).
I know that was a lot but I hope whatever you decide it works and its safe.

AmyGene I feel your pain. I av bad uneven skin too. I can't show my legs especially in summer I'm covered up. People are alwwys asking me why do you always cover yourself or why don't u show your legs. You gt a great body. Bt I can't help it. I have tried so many products its all rubbish I swear. I think maybe because I was naturally born dark. I envy those who bleach successfully. Its bad enuff that people hate when they find out your bleaching and having uneven skin. That's why I love this forum. No one critise u.

I really want to order some but I live with my aunty and she doesn't like the idea that I bleach even thou she does. I'm 20 for crying out loud. I've been tryna figure out how I'm going to order sum without her asking me questions. What should I do people? Retin-a and lactic acid is the only thing left that can help me to lighten. I'm sick of my uneven skin

Hey Naija!
Lactic peel and retin a are not skin lighteners they just help speeding up the process and making skin lightening evenly.
So why would your aunty say something, if she does ypou just need to explain that those aren't made to lighten the skin but even it out or to get ride of dark spots.
It's not a crime to want a beautiful and flawless skin... ;)

Don't forget lactic acid(from amazon) it really works great as I said before.In my opinion it is a must have.;)
