Hi there I am 21yrs old and I have always had irregular periods since I was 12 years old. I would usually get my period once a year or every six to eight months. Now that I am older they become very absent I am currently on birth control which is regulating them but my las period was almost three week and through all of it , it was very little and very black colored. Now I have been of my period for a week but today I have a sharp pain on the right side of my uterus.

Did you take your pills every day? Did you take them at the same time every day? Did you miss any and double up or miss them altogether?

That's my first thought.

If none of the above is going on then please see your doctor.

Also, just to add, even with birth control pregnancy is possible. Have you taken a pregnancy test?
