    Disputing Charges Plumber
We had water in a crawl spacedue to local flooding. The water pump "went Out" due to this. Plumber came sump pumped water out of area. He put pump on a couple of blocks to possibly avoid future water problems. Couple hours of work and no materials purchased for the job save for the couple blocks. Are we wrong to be shocked by a bill of $765.000?? We gave him a check and have been kicking ourselves since yesterday. Other than stopping the check - what are the options we have to dispute this charge and possibly recoup some money now? Thoughts?

Have him itemize his bill. If you still don't like the charges take him to small claims court for the difference. Let the judge decide if the bill is outrageous or not.

Depending on how many hours work was involved it just might be outrageous.
