I happened to overdraw the account by 100.00.. and got hit with 256.00 in bank fees the day before my ssd was deposited.. when it did get deposited the bank took the 256.00 right out of the ssd funds?. on my account I have my name and I also have social security disability listed on it so the ban would know that's what its for... was the bank alloweed to touch my ssd funds.. I was always told no one can touch this money since its my only soucre of income.. I got back 3 charges of 96.00 but I still want the rest

My research indicates that the bank can take the money because it represents bank fees, not a lien or judgment.

Have you approached the bank, explained the situation, asked for consideration for this one-time occurrence?
