As a mother of a unborn child can I file for custody of my own?
This is my first in ever being pregnant. I fear that my baby's father will try to take my unborn child from me once he/she is born. He has said before different times back and forth he would then he wouldn't. I myself need to make sure that never happens I'm not saying I don't want him to see his child I just don't want him just taking my baby. This Child already means the world to me and I can't even think of anyone taking him/her from me. Can I get legal documents saying I have custody? How do I protect my child from being taken from me?

You can do nothing until the child is born and paternity is established.

In order to "take" your child he would have to prove he's the father AND prove you are an unfit parent. He will, of course, be entitled to visitation with the child if he is not a risk to the child. He will also have to pay support.

If he is threatening you, document the threats and get an order of protection.
