Probably not.
May I accurately assume that you were unaware of this foreclosure until October? If so, the new owner should have notified you and cannot ask you for the July-October rent.
The foreclosure sign was put on the property in May; for a July auction. Auction day came; and the only person showing up was the attorney assigned to it. The owner said,"Don't worry about it." So, we continued to pay rent until September when we found out that the papers went through for the bank to own it. We want to know if we have any right the our rent we paid him after the auction.(July - September) He was a terrible landlord; neglecting many things; except taking our money.
