I Have just bought a new town house about one month ago. When I was looking at the house , there was no odor. After moving in I noticed a bad odor. Smells like sewer or a dead animal. Some times I don't smell it at all and other times it is so strong it gives me a headache. I tried to get the builder to help me find the source, but he claims he does not smell any thing. Everyone that enters my home , wants to know what that smell is?

Is it in every room? It must be worse in certain areas, no? It's probably sewer gas coming up through a dry trap. Pour water in every drain especially the floor drains. It could also be from a toilet that is not seated correctly on the toilet flange.
