    I need help on getting my female to sit still to get my male lab to inpragnat her please open to any options:confused:

    Get her spayed, end of options. She probably isn't in heat, have you heard of the term "back yard breeder"? Look it up, have you had both animals tested for hips and or other genetic diseases? Are they registered? You don't seem to be a registered kennel owner if you're asking a question like that.

    Unfortunately our society does a poor job of educating people on what they need to do to produce quality puppies. If anything it encourages people to go ahead without doing what they need to. I am sure if you had read a book on breeding, you wouldn't be coming here asking that question. And you need to read several. I know Successful Dog Breeding, by Chris Walkowicz, DMV is a good one to start with. Among other things it should cover how to make sure she gets pregnant, not infected.

    A good place to start is www.akc.org. I even find them a little lax on the subject. Take a look at how many Labs in your area need homes at www.petfinders.org

    Besides hips and eyes, you need to look at the temperament and behavior. Both parents should be fine examples. You don't want to pass on problems.
