    Was it legal??
We lived in an apartment and we told them that we were moving out because our work transferred us over 50 miles away. They told us that we didn't have to pay any fews or anything and we would get our deposit back. Then about 2 months later when we finally get the confirmation that we need to move I go back to tell them we are moving there is a new manager and they say that we due have to pay all the fees for moving out early and breaking our lease. Is this true??

Did you get that in writing?

If not read you lease that will tell what happens if you leave before the lease expires.

Sounds like the old manager was a softy (maybe why he was replaced) and the new one is a stickler for adhering to the terms of the lease. Unless you got it in writing that the previous manager was waiving the terms of the lease, then you are out of luck.

Of course, the new manager, may be trying to enforce terms in the lease that don't exist, so you need to check your lease.
