    domain and range
    state the domain and range of the relation if the graph is continuous ans is a circle whose centre is located at (-1, 12) and has a radius of 5 units?

    (I don't need the answer I have that I just don't understand how to get the answer, please help)

    answer is: D=-6<_ x <_4
    R= 7<_ y <_ 17

    (<_ the line is under the<)

    A sketch would be of great help.

    The centre is (-1, 12) and the radius is 5.

    So, from the centre of the circle, you'll have the leftmost side at coordinates (-6, 12) and the rightmost coordinate (4, 12) right? That gives a domain of -6<_ x <_ 4.

    You use the same logic for the range, but along the vertical.
