My Whirlpool electric dryer will not start at all when I push the button. I checked the breakers & they seem okay. The timer doesn't run, no noise at all. It was working fine before this. What could it be?

It could be as simple as a door switch. If it thinks the door is open it won't turn on and if it were running and you open the door it shuts off.
Check that first.
