    I don't believe any US state has an inheritance tax. Some states have an estate tax. This is a tax on the value of the estate to be paid by the estate. Most states, follow the fed lead and set an maximum of $2 mil before imposing estate taxes.

    Actually there are several states that have an inheritance tax. However, neither KS nor WA do. However, both WA and KS do have an estate tax.
