Federal and state tax - married filing jointly -h1b and h4
    Hi,

I live in Virginia and I gotmarried last June. I am planning to file the w7 along with 1040A form. I am on h1b visa and my wife has h4 visa. DO I need to submit any proof that says that my wife cannot have ssn? Or just w7 and 1040a is enough for federal filing? Can I file for state tax along with federal tax or should I wait?

    Regards
    Pragan.

File Form 1040 or 1040A with form W-7 (ITIN application) and supporting documents.
File state tax return after you get ITIN.

Read instructions to W-7. Normally notarized copy of passport will do.
