    will divorce save one asset?
husband in trouble, insurer settled and wants to make him personally liable for settlement amount. I am divorcing him for many reasons, but hoping to get one of our two properties in my name alone. Divorce attorney concerned that my divorce could be seen as a fraulent attempt to secure an asset and they may retroactively deny the new assignment of deed to my name only. If I do not secure this one asset, I am leaving this marriage with NOTHING. I am desperate, my attorney can get me divorced within two weeks, but will I then be free of the lien? Can they really come back and take my home? My husband will get the other home.. they are of equal value.

Yes they can come take the home, because you two are still married for when the lawsuit went on.
