I have a new job and my previous company has a check for me, the sc dept of revenue sent a levy letter to them and it stated if I was no longer with the company and I was due money, they needed to send the total compensation to sc dept of revenue, do I need to contact the sc dept of revenue concerning 75% of that compensation and they send me a check

I suspect that the South Carolina Department of Revenue filed the levy because you failed to file SC tax returns.

You will probably have to file those past-due SC tax returns to request a refund of the levied amount.
