Should some water always be visible when looking down my shower drain? It is a standing unit with no tub.

Looking down the drain hole, I can see some water about 8 inches below the floor of the shower. The water is draining properly.

What you see is the trap seal. This is normal and prevents sewer gas from entering your unit. Good luck, Tom
