No birth certificate available. What to do to find birth records.
Mother denies adoption. Aunt verifys adoption or possible illegal adoption. Baby boy born in cook county, IL February 14, 1963. Dr. Knapp handled getting baby for adopted mother. That is the only information we know. No birth certificate available under baby boys name. What to do?

Well what do you want to do ?

Are you the child ? If so you have a mother who raised you, And if the birth certificate you have is in your mothers name, there is little way to do this "illegally" since he had to go thought he courts to re-issue a birth certificate.

Why do you believe your mom is not telling the truth and your "aunt" is ?

I am helping my friend. The copy of his birth certificate is hand written. His cousins remembers aunt not being pg. Adopted mother told me once that he was adopted and now denies. The records department has no such record of his birth. Adopted mother now claims there was a fire in part of the records department and that is why there is no such record. He cannot get a Nevada drivers license without an original. Where do we go to get that?

    1. some older birth certificates are hand written ( heck my own is hand written) now it is a lot older than yours, but many orginals are)

    2. check with the hospital, they will have a record of the birth on file

    3. call the police, if he is not who he said, they may find a missing person report to match him to.

    4. I know since 9/11 ID rules changed, but at one time you could get drivers license with other records, such as school records if no birth certificate was available ( as with illegal immigrants)

Where is the child's father in this ?

O.K. good to know on the handwritten certificate.

Good idea to contact the hospital.

Nevada is requiring a certified copy of
    Birth certificate for drivers license.

If no record at the hospital, we will have to take the next step.
    Thank you.
