I'm a cat person, but will ask a few basic questions until the dog people see your post and offer suggestions.
1) Why do you want to breed your dog?
2) Have you studied thoroughly about breeding itself and blood lines/inherited conditions, dog pregnancy and its problems, delivery/birth and problems, how to care for new puppies and their mother, emergency situations, etc.
This is a bad idea. They're way too closely related to breed. Dachshunds have too many genetic infirmities to reinforce this much.
Is there a specific reason this girl needs to be bred?
You have to be very, very careful when breeding dogs who are related. Like Cats said, you are basically doubling up on any problems the dog has.
So if the mother had any health problems, you are doubling the puppies chances of also having a problem.
Line breeding is only done by show people when they are trying to keep a specific trait, it is very risky, and you do need to have an understanding of genetics to even attempt it.
Oops sorry didn';t mean to say goos site. Been up for too long.
