    Dog won't listen to me?
I have two dogs and one of them listens to me and can sit and lay down and does all and his brother won't listen at all. He keeps peeing inside and starts fights with his brother and makes his brother uncomfortable by humping him. What can I do? I tried locking him in the back room when he is bad and that doesn't seem to work. I yell at him and I grab him by the ear and lock him outside. I am not sure what to do, so far he doesn't poop inside just pees. Help!!

First of all, don't grab his ears, that can make him aggressive. Second, Just give him a firm NO. When you catch him peeing inside, give him a firm NO and lead him outside to finish. When he's done give him a cookie or something. Dogs respod better to encouragement. Punishment can make them anxious, nervous or aggressive. Also, if he's not fixed already, maybe get that done. But just to let you know, dogs hump as a sign of dominance and showing who's boss. Lots of animals do that. Also, NEVER rub his nose in his pee if you catch him at it or find it, chances are he won't remember it and it does not register. So please, don't do that, because it's the same as rubbing a child's nose in their diapers. Just encourage him when he's doing good and give him a firm no and gentle correction when he's misbehaving. Good luck. :)

What can I do to stop the humping and him to listen when training though? He just doesn't listen to me and he pees when I am not watching

Set up a word like potty and ask him every hour or so. This way when he hears it he associates it with going outside to go to the bathroom and he will either get excited or do nothing. Just make sure he gets regular potty breaks.

Maybe get him a big stuffed toy to hum too, Even if he's fixed, he probably won't stop, sometimes it's just a Dog's nature.

Just be encouraging. Dogs WILL respond to positive reinforcement and they're usually pretty good at understanding a firm business voice that tells them NO. it's all in the tone. Yelling scares them, and if you're too submissive he won't take you seriously. Just stick to that, be consistent, and you should be fine.

He's got 3 reasons for all of this:

    1) He's challenging your leadership

    2) He's dominating his brother

    3) He's jealous of the attention his brother is getting, so he's getting some by acting out.

Training two littermates at once is very challenging, even for an experienced trainer. I'd recommend some one-on-one time for each animal, with training gradually increasing as a portion of "their" time.

    No ears.

Mama grabs the skin at the back of the neck. That's how you should move the dog away with the firm no and ignore him.

    No hitting.

So far I say "bedtime" when its time for bed and they listen to that and go straight to the bedroom and for outside we say "outside" and so far it works some of the time. They are both sheltie and cocker spaniel. So far I keep both of them away from each other some of the time. When we sleep I keep one on side of bed and the other the other side. They have food and enough water and are great at sharing that and they play together fine . I have tried big toys and pillows and he just tries to destroy them I put this sour green stuff I got from petsmart and kevin the brother doesn't destroy things and not my shoes thank god for that. They are both 2 years old and so far kevin is trying to be more dominate it seems to me. I tried putting one outside and train the other so I will try to do that more.

How old is the dog if its still a puppy then you need to train it which could take sometime. If he's already trained just give him a gentle no and take him outside. Don't physically do anthing to your dog it will just make him scared of u. and try speding more time with him
