    Biochemistry: Ca++ concentration and glycolysis
    Pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphate phosphatase (PDPP) activates pyruvate dehydrogenase (PD) by the removal of a phosphate. PDPP is in turn stimulated by calcium ions Ca++. Ca++ concentration increases dramatically during muscle contraction. How would the elevated Ca++ concentration influence the rate of glycolysis, the citric acid cycle, and why?
