Wiring a 3 way pilot lighted switch
I have purchased a 3 way pilot lighted switch to control the garage lights from inside my home. This is to replace an existing 3 way switch. The difference between this switch and a normal 3 way switch is the 4th wire for the nuetral to run the pilot light.

I don't have a neutral in this box for the lights I want to control, but I do have a nuetral in this box that controls a different lighting circuit, the lights in the hallway in the home. Can I attach to that neutral? These switches are controlled by different circuit breakers from the load panel.

I do a limited amount of electrical work, and do understand basic lighting circuits. But I'm not sure if this is a workable solution and how it works with electrical codes.

    Thanks.

Lighted 3-way switches that do not require a neutral are available.

Suggest that you use that type of 3-way.

I can only find "lighted when off" switches that don't need a neutral. Can you provide a manufacturer and part number? Thanks.

Many times the switches are located where you can see the light, you don't need an indicator as the light does this for you.
If you are installing this at the hot end, you will have to pull the switchedleg to the indicator as well.
Can you provide your switch number?
It seems that if a neutral goes to this switch, that you would need 5 terminals, 3 for the 3 way and the other 2 for the Neutral and switchleg.
