We had our water heater replaced yesterday, went in fine. Our kitchen faucet, however, has stopped working. What's strange is that both the faucet and shower in the bathroom work just fine? Why would only one fixture in the house suddenly stop working?

Most likely becaue the aerator is clogged... ;)

Remove the aerator at the end of the faucet, clean it... run water without it in place and then install it beack in place.

Yeah, I don't think it's a problem with the faucet itself. Following the water heater installation, the pressure in the kitchen faucet was noticeably weaker, and since then it has stopped completely. Even with the aerator completely removed, it won't push any water? Is it possible the plumbers could've messed something up when they replaced the water heater?

Next step is to shut off the water at the shutoffs under the sink and then remove the lines connecting from the shutoffs to the faucet... direct the supplies to a bucket and turn the shutoffs on... see if water volume/pressure is present. If so, the issue is up in the faucet and the faucet will need to be disassembled and cleared of debris. If no water at the shutoffs then the issue is further back and it is possible that the plumber may have shut off some shutoffs and forgotten to turn them on... maybe?

Sorry for the double post but if this helps, the dishwasher, which is on the same outlet (spigot? Sorry I don't know the term. Under the sink, the water lines for the faucet and the dishwasher come from the same connection) as the faucet is getting water. Could the line running from the wall to the faucet become clogged? If so is there a way to clear it myself?

Sounds like the problem is up in the faucet...most likely in the mixing cartridge.

I'd recommend calling the plumbing company that installed the water heater... perhaps they'll be super responsible and come back and fix at no charge. In my business it's policy to check all fixtures for full flow after installing a water heater... perhaps it's the same with these guys?

Otherwise, you'll need to plan on shutting the water to the faucet off and get access to and remove the inner parts... clean all and then reinstall. You'll want to pulse the cold and hot water on while the cartride is out so you are sure water is flowing fully.

What is the name brand of the faucet?
