Trying to remove relative from home
I want to kick my sister in law out of my home. She said she has rights. She does not pay any rent . Can I do this and if so how do I go about doing it. Does it matter if she has kids There have been many times she has called police because of stupidness. Because she gets mad. You I know she has issues. Would it be good to try to get reports of this. Do you know what web site on can go on to legal documents about this matter

I don't think getting copies of the police reports is a matter that can be handled by going to any website. You might call your local police and ask about it but having those reports won't make much difference in your plans to have her removed from your home. While you are on the phone with the police, ask about having her removed from your home. If you are the legal owner of the home and there is no one else in the mix, like say your husband who is providing his sister permission to stay, then I believe the police will tell you its possible to have her and her kids removed as trespassers. Its not about proving who is the worst one so the police will takes sides, its about what the law says.

You may want to Google "Squatter Laws" for your state. It tells what rights these people have if any. Is she paying rent, does she and her kids have anywhere else to go, is she receiving mail there? If so, she may claim that your house is her primary residence and you may have to go through the courts to get her removed. I'm facing the same problem... good luck!
