My mini dachund may be pregnant. I know all well about the false pregnancy but it seems to be going a little far to be false. I am making a vet appointment but I'm inquiring if anyone may be of some help or comfort. Her appetite is increasing nipples not swollen or lactating but very cuddly wanting to nest. She is not as active but uses the bathroom(yard) more often throughout the night and has had morning sickness. Her stomach is very concerning growing by the day.She was in 2 weeks bled 2 weeks and just finished her out 2 weeks but in the mean time got out of the yard for 5 minutes. I know I know that's all it takes lol. Any input anyone?

There is little way of telling until about a month.

I am not laughing. Such accidental breedings lead to the terrible slaughter of unwanted dogs for lack of homes. I find no humor in that. Those that do not spend the time educating themselves about dogs that responsible breeding requires, should spay/neuter their pets.

The vet visit now is a good idea. She could have been injured or infected. Go to www.akc.org and read about responsible breeding. And then go to www.petfinders.org and see how many Dachshunds or Dachshund mixes in your area need homes.

I would get her to the vets office for an ultrasound. Who knows what she could have been bred with. If something very large she may die giving birth or most likely require a c-section. I would have her spayed ASAP!
She may also have a Pyometra which looks like pregnancy in many ways. It is an infection of the uterus and requires er surgery.
So... go to the vet!

You can check her belly by her vagina and feel if her ovaries are swollen and or if they feel that they have something in it.. it may be then she is pregnet.

Do her and yourself a favor and spay her.
