Can your probation officer make you work if you are disabled
My husband has both physical and mental dissablities. Can his probation officer make him work?

Does he have a doctor's certificate saying he has mental and physical disabilities?

If he does, then his probation officer can't make him work. But, I have to ask, what crime did he commit with these disabilities that he has to have a probation officer for.

Why is his PO requiring him to work? Agree with Tickle -

Is he collecting Social Security Disability for his disabilities? Did he have an attorney handling his criminal matter? If yes, ask his attorney about this request/demand of the PO for him to hold a job.

Usually the probationer is required to hold gainful employment while on probation. This is standard boiler plate language of any probation agreement.

Just because he was/is disabled, he apparently wasn't so disabled enough to not commit a crime and land on probation.

If the PO says he must hold a job and decides to violate him because of it, the Judge will have to decide if this violates his probation or not.

First of all folks, disabled does not mean he is confined to a bed. He may have done a minor crime that caused probation, like (bad checks).

Second, all you need a letter from the doctor/or disability stating you cannot work... SIMPLE AS THAT

Third, tell the PO officer to KISS YOUR AzzES AND I said plural cause you as the wife can have relief !

Just Kidding... he'l for sure go to jail... lol hope this helps

He must obey his written probation rules or face the consequences legally. Sometimes just a doctor's note is not enough. If that was the case everybody on probation would magically produce a doctor's note and not have to work. This needs to be taken care of by his attorney legally.

There are a lot of disability frauds out there happily collecting their monthly benefits and still working under the table.

The judge would have to get involved in this matter otherwise the PO could violate him.
