    KISS

    <moved from Electrical and Lighting>

    The Horizontal line means that there is aproblem with the verticle deflection circuit in the TV. This generally means professional repair.

    Stratmando

    Being it sometimes works, it may be a cold solder joint, A Tech would likely ChecK The Larger of the Transistors on the board and will likely have a heat sink(aluminum).
    If you can solder, dissassemble and reaassemble, you may look closely at the bottom of the Board for the bad joint, may be discolored by Heat as well. Resolder.
    Professionals usually do this, but if you are planning on discarding rather than repairing, it can't hurt.
    You need to know how to safely discharge the 2nd Anode.
    We usually took a screwdriver between the 2 prongs of the unplugged plug and slip inder the Cap and you will Hear the discharge.
