    1st offense shoplifting in canada
I shoplifted in sears canada last year. I really don't have money but loan money from a friend to hire a lawyer that cost $1000. The reason I hired a lawyer is to convince the crown to put me into diversion, not going to the court and no criminal records because it will reflect on my future job junting. My questions are can a lawyer will be able to that for me esp for not having a criminal record? And I'm planning to come to USA, are they going to stop me? Because I did my fingerprinting and photo in canada, I'm really scared my husband's really disappoint with me. Help me

Yes, this arrest can keep you from entering the US.

And, yes, it is possible that you will receive diversion.

I just don't understand, my attorney told me that I'll be going for a diversion so I have a clean criminal record, if that's so why I can't come to USA? Because during that time my case withdrawn because the diversion program just asked me to write an essay and I attended the one-on one module program, I don't know about law much... so many questions in my head :(

Please don't use text speak on the legal boards.

Are you asking in anticipation of being given diversion OR are you asking following being given diversion - ?
