How do I reassemble tub a push n lock tub drain?
I took a push n lock type tub drain apart to replace the washer. There are 2 springs, several plastic parts, one large screw and the top. How do these parts fit back together?

Yes, it seals and opens that way.

Didn't you unscrew the cap part to open the stopper up? If so, you just put the spring back inplace, put the cap back over the thraeded rod and turn clockwise, or did I miss something?

I unscrewed the large, flat, plastic top to the drain - the part that you push. Then un screwed the large screw and took the rest out. To get the large (about 2 1/2" across) washer out I had to take the entire thing out and take it apart. There are 2 springs and 4 plastic parts 0 2 are similar to the inside of a ball point pen mechanizm. I'd love to find a diagram someplace on putting it back together.

My drain used to look exactly like #2 - before I took it apart. The bottom part is shaped like a hexagon with a hole in it for the screw. Couldn't remove the torn washer without taking the rest apart. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi there
Same thing happened to me and I can't accept the answer "buy a new one" when the thing is super simple to reassemble provided you have the assembly drawing. Did you get the drawing?
    Let me know

    Thanks

    Found it:
    US patent # us3428295

You can find it on Google with drawings

    Patent US3428295 - Push-actuated drain valve - Google Patents

Yes, the patent drawing helped me to put it back together.
The drawing is a bit cryptic buy I succeeded after about 3 attempts.

    Good luck!
