Edit your boot.ini file on c:\ root folder

Rright click on boot.ini and choose edit

Delete the line in boot.ini that is listed under [Operating Systems] that reflects the option you do not want to use during start

Make sure you delete the one not in use and delete the line for the partition that you formatted.

Make a backup of boot.ini in same folder as .bak just in case you remove the wrong one

Found it, but is it suppose to be a notepad file?
  • Feb 16, 2010, 04:12 PM
    seahwk83

Yes, it will open in notepad and then you can make changes and when saved, it will still be same file

After editing as mentioned above, restart the PC
