Grounding with a plastic outlet box?
(Sigh) Here is my problem. An older house. I have (2) 3-pronged outlets in a closet. I would like to use these outlets. They work BUT testing them comes up "Open ground". I inspected them and found 4! Wires coming into the plastic box. Wht(connected at outlet 1 and jumped to outlet 2) Red (connected at outlet 1 and jumped to outlet 2) Black (Not doing anything!) and bare copper (not doing anything) in which I connected to bottom(ground?) screw on outlet one. Still says open ground! What am I doing wrong?

Put your test lead on the red and then black and then the bare. Did either of these wiresblack or bare, give you a circuit? If no go back to your panel and chjeck where this cable enters the panel, what happens with that black and bare at the panel?
