Police claim snowmobile is stolen... what can I do?
I have a snowmobile with one serial number on the motor... it is a 1997 ski doo... police are claiming it was stolen but there is no claims on it being stolen through the police department... what can I do? Do they have the right to keep it in their possession knowing that it is 13 years old and no leads on it being stolen? They haven't charged me either for possession of stolen property and its been 4 days.

Do you have any paper work about the Snowmobile? Or a recite? Or you could always go back to the store you bought it from and they can print something off saying you bought it. Besides that I really don't know. It's like at school, even if you didn't do it if the principal (cops in your case) said you did it, you did it. But I would fer sure fight it, get a lawyer.

Did you read the thread? There's another thread about this same thing, asked and answered there.

What do you mean by a recite?

This is from February and the OP has not been back.
