Boyfriend moved stuff in, then broke up with me. Do I get to keep the stuff?
My boyfriend and I decided to move in together. He brought stuff to my apartment, and I got rid of a lot of my stuff to accommodate for his stuff (i.e, bed, TV, etc). Then he decided that we needed a new couch, so I got rid of my couch and he bought us a new one. Few months later and we are broken up. Now he is saying that he is coming to get all of his stuff. But I got rid of all my stuff that I had at my house, in order for his stuff to be here, so I will have nothing if he does that. I considered all of those things gifts, so what do I do? Could he really take me to court for these things if I don't return them? Or should he just get over it? (BTW he cheated in the relationship)

If he took you to court, the stuff that was actually his before he moved in he will most likely get back. The couch, and anything else he bought for the both of you you'd at least have a chance of getting to keep. But it would come down to your word against his. You arguing it's a gift, him arguing it wasn't.

Live and learn. Next time, don't hurry to be so accommodating.
