    Doctors, Treatment for vulvodynia
After having pain and going to doctors for a year and a half I was diagnosed as having vulvodynia. After my diagnosis I was given an oral Rx that worked for a while but eventually stopped. I am new to the Minneapolis area and I need a doctor who is competent and can actually help me. I have a very understanding Husband but the emotional toll is becoming more than I can handle, PLEASE HELP! Anyone else who has any input on this matter please, I welcome your advice!

If you are asking for a medical referral, we cannot do that here. Have you tried your local Medical Association?

No, I haven't I just know that after being "treated" by several doctors unsuccessfully not all medical professionals are familiar with this with this problem and how to treat it. Would you be able to provide any guidance on treatment?

Do you know of a resource I can use to access a doctor who is familiar with the issue?

You would have to call your local Medical Association or hospital and ask for a recommendation.

I am aware it's an extremely painful and life altering medical problem but all that I personally know about it is what I've read on the Internet.

There's an Nurse who posts here and I'm going to see if I can find her.

Thanks for the "referral" Judy. However, this is something I know very little about.

In doing a little bit of research I have found a foundation that does have referrals to doctors. I don't know if any are in your area, but it's worth a try. Here is the link...

We do have a member that lives in your area. She has an appointment with her doctor this week and will be checking about your specific diagnosis. If this doctor can help you, I am sure Synnen will most likely PM you with the name of the doctor so as not to place the name of the doctor on the internet without his/her approval.
