Incorrect State on W2 (VA) how do I file in PA?
    Hello all-

I left Virginia on Jan 17, 2009, and moved to Pa but continued to work for the Va. Company until Sept. I received my W2 and it had the incorrect state on it (VA). My company has already paid my taxes to Va (they pay quarterly). How can I now file with Pa?

    Please help!

You will have to file botg with VA and PA as a part-year resident. You owe VA taxes for the little bit of time you lived and worked there in 2009, but since you kept having withholdng for VA through September you should get back a major refund. Then you file in PA as a part-year resident, and since you had no withholding you will probably find that you owe PA a big payment. Unfortunately you can't apply the VA refund directly to PA - you have to write the check yourself. I trust your current employer is now withholding tax for the correct state.
