Plastic shower pan installation drain connection
speedball1 - I need some advice. I have a plastic shower pan with a 3" I.D. drain cast in. The problem is that when the contractor installed it 5 years ago, he just used silicone to glue the 2" pvc into the 3" ID drain. This pre case drain will not accommodate a normal 2" shower drain kit - how do I connect my 2" pvc line to this precase drain.

    Thanks in advance,
    Matt

    Hey Matt,
Are you asking how to increase the 2" shower raiser to fit a 3" shower drain? This can be done in one of several ways. A 3 X2" bushing or a 3 X 2 reducing coupling, (see images) If you use the 3 X 2" bushing you won't have to add a short piece to connect the drain. Good luck, Tom
