    Broken metal water pipe
A tree brance fell on my outside faucet and broke the metal pipe the faucet was screwed onto. How can I fix this?

    Hi all...

If you have a threaded metal pipe (called galvanized pipe) then you will need to remove the piping back to the nearest good threaded joint, unscrew the broken pipe (use two wrenches), and then screw in a male adapter and run some copper pipe and a new shutoff with drain to a new outside faucet.

If you live in a cold climate you'll want to install an antifreeze outside faucet... ;)

Let us know if you want to discuss more... O.K?
