Horizontal line television
I have a 10 year old 27" CRT Sanyo TV and the picture has collapsed into a single, very bright, horizontal line. I was wondering if this was a failure in the horizontal oscillator circuit? I know circuit repair so I was trying to isolate the problem down to the area on the board. Also, there was a bad solder joint in the vertical area of the board and I used to wiggle the cable jack on the back to make the picture go full-size. Eventually, the wiggling stopped working so I opened up the set and that's when I saw the bad solder joint. I fixed it but the picture never came back. I have a feeling the arcing in the bad solder joint blew something out in the horizontal. Any suggestions (besides get a new tv)? Thanks for the time!
