    My ac/heat keeps running
I live in Florida a/c & heat are same unit. The unit was serviced one month, go problems, cleaned and working fine. However, on heat mode, it frosts up and the fan never runs. My neighbors fan runs, even on heat. I was told during service this is normal. I suspect I have become more aware of the variations now. Is this normal?? Thanks

Brand/model#? Are you referring to the outdoor fan? If this is a heat pump system, it should be running at least part-time. If the unit is equipped with a vapor pressure switch, it may cycle the outdoor fan to control heat absorption in milder temperatures.

It is a Carrier/Radco FA4ANF036. Yes outdoor fan, I have not seen it run at all. Temps outside have been 30s & 40s. In these temps should the fan be turning, or is it normal to not be, in these temps and on Heat mode

The number you provided is for the indoor unit. This info, along with the frost you see on the outdoor unit, suggests you have a heat pump system. The outdoor fan should be running anytime the system is operating in a heating or cooling cycle. Try this: set thermostat mode selector to COOL & lower set temperature to cause system to run. Does outdoor fan run? Listen for any operating sounds, such as compressor running.

Yes it runs now, our temps have been abnormally cold at night, high 20s to mid 40s. From what I read this can be a problem with heat pumps operating properly.

    Thanks again,
    Frank
