The power went out a couple of times due to bad weather. It's back on now, but the thermostat display is blank and the heat will not come back on

Check if there is a battery in the stat most all digital ones have a backup battery and most won't work if its dead... good luck

Additionally, the furnace may have a circuit board with a low-voltage fuse.
