    Regret in Hacking!!
I guessed an exboyfriend email and Facebook password and gain access to it. I didn't do anything to his account, but he somehow found out. He doesn't know it was me yet, because I am sure he would have contacted me. He has threaten on his Facebook wall to find culprit and seek legal action. I know it was wrong of me, so please don't lecture. My question is in the state of California can he catch who guess his password and if he does somehow what legal action can he take. How much trouble am I in? :(

You can go to prison. What you did is theft.

Federal law prohibits accessing a private network without permission. That's what you did.

Most likely conviction first time, would just be a fine and probation,
