Repairing a ceiling fan light pull chain
    Hello all
I need to replace the pull switch for the light for my ceiling fan. I have the part and took off the the cover to get at the part that holds the bulb where the wires are supposed to connect. The problem is that one of the old wires is no longer connected and I can't tell where I should attach the new wire. I also can't see exactly where the second wire is connected. There are 2 wires-black and white coming out of the fixture and both wires on the switch are black. Any ideas? Do I need to buy an new light fixture?
    Thanks

The switch connects to the black (or blue) wire from the fan and the black wires from the light. The white wires from the light connect to the white wire from the fan.
