Unexpected period having stopped new birth control pill
I had my period a week and a half ago. When I stopped my period I started a new birth-control pill, which gave me bad side-effects so stopped taking it after 4 days. A day after I stopped taking it I started bleeding, and started what I thought must be my period. Should I be worried? What action should I take?

Hello Lilly, This new bleeding is most likely what is called withdrawal bleeding, or a fake period. It happens when you stop exposing your body to the hormones in the birth control pills. Stopping the pill causes the lining of the uterus to weaken, just a little, so many women will experience withdrawal bleeding, but it is not a true period. Your next period may or may not come at its regular time. In the mean time you should use some other form of birth control, such as condoms or a diaphragm.
