During heavy rains, I have noticed that my 2nd floor bathroom wall is wet at the tapecoat seem between both factory edges of the sheet rock. Directly above my bathroom is an eves. I went into the eves and noticed that an IV drip of water if following a PVC exhaust pipe. I open the wall in my bathroom and sure enough, the pipe is butted up against the sheet rock in my bathroom. Upon further examination, I noticed that the "seal" between the external roof and the internal connection to my eves is open (I could see the sun shining through). Before I patch the wall, how can I patch this broken seal. 2ndly, it would be better to go on the external side of the roof and patch it there, vs. apply an appoxy from the inside. Please help.

Normally this would be a continuous piece of PVC, what is yours made of? A flashing pipe boot is installed outside and goes under the shingles. Can you do a picture? Repairing That Pipe Boot Leak On Your Roof

Correct... the PVC pipe ends and then there is a boot. The leak is coming from the immediate section of where the boot goes through the ceiling in to the exterior portion of the roof. I will try to get a picture, but not until morning. It is as if the seal around the boot has been pushed aside from a small animal (or the like).

PVC should not end, it should continue up through the roof as one piece or two pieces welded together and the boot slides down over the pipe
